Sepehr Eslami is a water expert; coastal and maritime engineer; civil and environmental advisor. With 10+ years of experience from coastal and marine contracting to consultancy and academia, he is a coastal engineer and a water expert in fluvial and marine dynamics in the context of global change. As an effective communicator, team leader and player with strong international background and experience in Asia, Europe and the Middle East, he is passionate about solving large scale environmental challenges. With competitive technical, analytical and scientific skills in advanced numerical modeling, professional programming (Python & Matlab, etc.) and data analytics, he advises a diverse set of projects at different stages and with different scopes.
Since April he joined the NUS-Deltares office but he also worked at Deltares between 2008 and 2011.
He has been an inhouse consultant at Boskalis, and started a PhD in dynamics of salt intrusion in the Mekong Delta, Vietnam. Mekong-wide numerical models in 1D, 2DH, 2DV and 3D were developed, challenging DFlow-FM to its capacities. These models are now used to study the effect of land subsidence, climate change and river bed level changes in developing future scenarios of salt intrusion in the Mekong.
