NUS Research on Water Policy

The research on water policy aims to understand the nature of challenges to water security, to identify smarter policies in water sector, to evaluate the outputs and outcomes of investments and other interventions pertaining to water resources. Singapore and many other industrialized countries have developed very advanced, full-service water delivery systems. Yet much of humanity still lacks access to a safe, reliable water supply and a hygienic sanitation system due to mismanagement of water utilities, policy and program failures in water sector, and the lack of progress in integrating water security in national policy-making.

To this end, most of the research fits within one of three clusters: Utility Management, Regulation and Policy, Water Sector Governance and Reform, and Water Security and Sustainable Development.
